EA released gameplay footage from some of their most anticipated games at Gamescom today.
We got our first look at Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, the anticipated prequel to the franchise. The environment looks amazing and the gameplay fast as Faith scales her way into a secret laboratory to find a pretty creepy looking guy has beaten her to her goal. We will have to wait until the end of February to find out what he was doing there.
Star Wars Battlefront is adding a new aerial vehicle-only multiplayer mode called Fighter Squadron on November 17. In this mode players control X-Wings, TIE Fighters and several other iconic ships in fast paced dog fights as the Rebel Alliance hunts down an escaping Imperial transport shuttle protected by the Empire team.
Unravel is possibly the most beautiful use of the Frostbite engine to date, if you haven't seen this gameplay yet, please go enjoy. The game is a physics-based puzzle and platformer centered around Yarny, a painfully adorable walking bundle of string that leaves a path of himself behind him. He uses this to create bridges and trampolines to get through obstacles. While there has not been an official release date set, the game is expected for some time before the end of March 2016.
For anyone who is a fan of over-the-top franchise Plants vs. Zombies, there will be a new character available for those who preorder Garden Warfare 2. They aren’t letting us down in the pun department, get excited for Grass Effect Z7-Mech — a super sleek and modern suit with a built in toaster. There is also a new map called Moon Base Z and a dynamic hub called Backyard Battleground where players can take on daily quests and complete missions with friends.
Bioware introduced a new cinematic trailer featuring the Outlander character for its upcoming expansion to Star Wars: The Old Republic called Knights of the Fallen Empire. This is coming out in November and anyone who joins by August 10 will get a new companion character, Nico Okarr, for free.
The Sims 4 will be getting an expansion in November, called “Get Together.” The trailer features plenty of that going on in a new European-style city called Windenburg. This pack allows Sims to hang out with friends and is the first to give players a pack to control.
EA Sports debuted FIFA Ultimate Team draft for FIFA 16, which has players pick their team position by position from a five player draw before pitting them against other teams to win rewards for their club. The trailer they released features footballers Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher more than gameplay but is entertaining enough for a watch.
