Rainbow Six Siege - Season 2 Updates

Ubisoft's tactical shooter boasted 10 million players and shared their playerbase increase of over 50% since the launch last year. Constant improvements, season 1 releases, introduction of ranked, maps, new operators and dedicated servers for custom competitive games added a sheen to the entire game. Ubisoft are not slowing down their drive for Rainbow Six Siege, as the weekend just gone saw a Free Weekend go by where PC, XBox and PS4 could play Rainbow Six Siege for free.
While the weekend saw an overload of their servers,they were back up and running later on Friday night. In addition the PC World Championships roared on over the weekend with the ContinuumR6 winning out the Rainbow Six Siege PC World Champions.
Ubisoft has released their plans for Season 2.
One of the largest updates will be the removal of Peer 2 Peer servers and the introduction of dedicated servers and improvements to Matchmaking and hit detection:
"Reliability of the connection is going to significantly improve this year,"
In addition new operators will shake up the meta with Mira and Jackal, with footprint scanners and reinforced murderholes in doors and windows. Check out the video below for a dev report

Year 2 Operators and bonus DLC:

- 8 exclusive headgear customizations
- 8 exclusive uniform customizations
- R6 Carbon charm
- 600 R6 Credits to purchase in-game content
VIP Perks:
- 7-day early access to each season's new Operators.
- 10 per cent discount in in-game shop
- 5 per cent Renown boost to unlock in-game content faster
- 2 extra daily challenges
Finally the introduction of Loot Boxes which are entirely seperate to the shop, allowing loot to be obtained as you play.
