The Witcher 3, the open-world RPG by Polish developer CD Projekt RED, has sold over 6 million copies in their first six weeks of sales. With scores of 10/10 from GameSpot and 9.3/10 from IGN, the game is sure to make it on most if not all of the lists of top games from 2015. The developer released a financial statement covering the first six weeks of sales showing the company earned roughly 237 million PLN in profit for the first half of 2015 - that is $63.3 million USD.
None of that revenue was generated by DLC, bucking the model that has become quite standard and earning the appreciation of many gamers. All 16 pieces of DLC were given out for free and they span everything from new outfits to new modes for the game, prompting much more discussion about the model many gamers have grown tired of.
To celebrate the success of a game we love, GamerDating is offering a limited amount of keys for The Witcher 3 with Gold membership subscriptions. Normally, the game retails for $60, making this one of the best deals we have had.
